A bit about me
I run Snap Marketing from Motueka, the town I grew up in. My clients are all over New Zealand, and I help them with websites, hosting, social media, and the mindset stuff that gets in the way of all three.
Before Snap, I had fifteen-plus years in photography and twenty in retail management. So I’ve stood behind the counter, behind the camera, and behind the computer.
On paper: a postgraduate degree in Visual Art and Design, plus digital marketing training with NZIE in 2022.
Hi, I'm Carissa. I built this for the woman I used to be.
For many years, I was a business owner, exceptional with a camera, and hopeless at the business side. I undercharged. I posted for everyone and planned for no one. I avoided every business group going, because introvert.
Nobody taught me the business part. I pieced it together slowly.
Then life changed. After a massive life pivot, I spent 18 months learning everything I could about growing myself and growing a business, because I wanted a financially secure life on my own terms. Somewhere in there, I realised other women could use the same skills to build their own freedom.
So I built Grow Your Biz.
Who's teaching you
I started out as a solo mum doing a Degree in Visual Art and Design. I had no confidence, and I’d never really finished anything in my life. All I knew was that I was good at art, and I needed a way to support my children. I was 34 years old.
Not much of a life plan. But it was the one I had.
It took many, many years. Slowly my confidence grew. Slowly I built some financial security. And somewhere along the way I started changing the old thoughts about not being good enough. I reprogrammed my worth, and it changed my life.
It was long, hard, and painful. I think back to it often, and how much easier and faster it would have been if someone had lent me a hand. Someone to guide me, show me, and encourage me.
So that’s what Grow Your Biz is. The hand I wish I’d had.
